NGS Gardens Open

NEW Riverside House Axford, Marlborough, SN8 2HA. Hamish & Susie Watson. 4 m E of Marlborough. Parking in grass field next to Red Lion pub (adjoining gate to wildflower meadow & garden.). Wed 21 June (11-5). Adm £5, chd free. Light refreshments in the village hall opp house. Refreshments in aid of another charity. Beautiful wisteria-clad village house (originally a farmhouse) dating back to C16, with William and Mary additions in late C17. Cottage style garden of over 1 acre, with many wild areas, mature trees and herbaceous borders. A charming rose garden and lawns sweeping down to a stream and small pond, with fine views to the south over water meadows to hills beyond.
